I have been dealing with Multiple Myeloma (cancer of the bone marrow), diagnosed in July 2003. My doctors have told me that I "almost" or "could have" died 5 different times. I did not know it at the time, but the MM cancer ate through my bone marrow and I walked around with a broken back (at my right lower L-1 vertebrae) for 5 months before diagnosis. I wondered why my libido went to ZERO and had been that way for 5 years, especially since I have been on 5 different kinds of chemothereapy. For those sexually active, you must be very careful, because of certain kinds of chemotherapy. I am currently on Revlimid, which is a "cousin" of Thalidomide, which pregnant women took in the 1950's, causing severe birth defects in newborns and infants.
I am trying to research about cancer and sexuality. If there is anyone out there dealing with cancer and would like to discuss this, please post or contact me.

Between chemotherapy treatments and brittle bones sex must seem like an impossible dream. What a challenge! I have not experienced cancer (knock on wood) but I've spoken to a few people at this forum who have and may be able to share info with you.

Good luck and stay well!
