Full Version: "Snapped" really?!
Oxygen Boards > TV Shows > Snapped

After watching many episodes of this program, I'm still confused as to the reason for its title.

In just about every episode that I've seen, the motives of the murders are greed, adultery and jealousy; rarely is it about a woman who has had enough or has lost all reason to the point of murder as the title would imply.

I'm wondering had it been a show about men killing or abusing their wives for the same reasons would it also have a title with a built in excuse for cold-blooded, anti-social behaviour.

I guess Oxygen's "dedication to empowering women to do great things" involves candy coated titles about the real nature of these women.

May I suggest "Greedy, Murderous and Deceitful Women" as a more accurate title for this program.

I thought not.

Laughable.

i agree it use to be women getting beat up or raped and snapping, now it's "women" who just want the insurance money. and worst was monique who didn't serve ANY time.

I would classify the Kimberly Cunningham episode as one of a woman who "snapped" for sure!

I have to agree with the title. The majority of the women didn't snap! They were greedy, cheaters and deceitful! All they wanted was there husbands parents and children out of the way because it was crampng their style. As one poster pointed out, Kimberly Cunningham was a case of someone snapping. I know too that some of the stories on Snapped are interconnecting with other shows such as I Survived and City Confidential.

i agree that the title "snapped" makes u think that all of these women have been abused or something and snapped. (in some cases they did). but in some cases... there are women who CLAIM to have snapped, but really killed for other reasons. idk, i think the title is catchy.

I agree. Whether some of them killed in the name of financial gain, or have a disregard for human life in general.

Yeah I agree. I didn't really see most of the cases as Snapped people. But their are some that did make sense:

Carol Carr
Kimberly Cunningham
Kimberly Kondejewski
Shannon Torrez (I personally think she lost it when she had her miscarriage)
Nikki Reynolds (That murder was DEFENITELY a person that snapped)
Dixie Shanahan
Erin Dukes
Jennifer Hyatte

and others.

I like the title. It is catchy.
Here are some more ladies that really did snap:
Laura Rogers
Dionne Baugh
Clara Harris
Susan Wright
Dora Cisneros
Linda Jones
Linda Lou Chorbonneau....well maybe that one just wasn't right anyway.
