I had no idea he even had another daughter. I think someone answered on another thread that it was an adopted baby and that they were getting divorced prior to the adoption becoming legal. They said Dean's wife is the only parent for the baby as it was legalized after they divorced.

Dean is not Lola's father. He did not adopt her.

Interesting, though, that they had the baby for awhile before the adoption was formalized. Which means for that time, Dean did have another daughter and he told his ex-wife that he wasn't leaving the kids, just her.

I guess he was able to break that bond pretty easily. Good to know.

I suppose the ex could have cancelled the adoption, since she suddenly became a single mother. She apparently couldn't break that bond so cavalierly.

my personal opinion is that, if he does have another daughter, or even two; they should say something about them on the show.
but if not, it's fine.
if they don't want the all the public that's watching to know about it, its no big deal.
its there show, and there own lives.
you have to look at it from there point of view.

From what I gathered, Dean & his ex-wife's marriage had been on the cool side for some time. Dean did want more children and for some years she didn't. Then when she decided to evidently she couldn't get pregnant.
The adoption was evidently a pushed point on her part to try to keep Dean. They only had the baby a few weeks, if that, maybe two, before Dean had to leave to go on location shoot, which is where he met Tori.
Therefore, he wasn't around the baby that long to develope a bond with her.
Once a child is in the possession of the adopting parents, there is a wating period before the adoption can become offical & finalized, Dean & his ex were divorced before this wating period was up.

GIVE DEAN A BREAK. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG THEY HAD THE CHILD OR WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES WERE. YOU NOTICE HOW THEY'RE NOT ALLOWED TO SHOW JACK ON THE SHOW AND RARELY ARE ALLOWED TO MENTION HIM? IT'S POSSIBLE HE'S BEEN BARRED FROM DISCUSSING LOLA. IT'S ALSO VERY POSSIBLE THAT LEAVING LOLA BEHIND KEEPS HIM UP AT NIGHT AND WE DON'T SEE IT. WHY DO YOU THINK HE DOES ALL THOSE DANGEROUS SPORTS? IT'S POSSIBLE HE'S RUNNING FROM SOMETHING.
MAYBE BECAUSE HE LEFT, MARY JO INSISTED HIS NAME BE REMOVED FROM THE ADOPTION PAPERS. MAYBE BECAUSE HE WAS NO LONGER IN THE HOUSEHOLD, HE WASN'T CONSIDERED A PARENTAL FIGURE AND THEY REMOVED THEM. OR MAYBE THEY'D ONLY HAD THE CHILD A SHORT TIME AND HE HADN'T BONDED WITH HER YET AND HE FELT IT BEST NOT TO BE A PART TIME FATHER TO A CHILD WHO WAS NEVER GOING TO LIVE WITH HIM AND REALLY GET TO KNOW HIM.
BUT THE POINT IS, I WAS TAUGHT NOT TO JUDGE UNTIL I HAD ALL THE FACTS, AND WE DON'T. WE THINK BECAUSE WE SEE SO MUCH OF THEIR LIVES WE SEE ALL OF IT. THINGS LIKE THIS, THERE CAN BE LEGAL ISSUES BARRING HIM FROM MENTIONING IT.
JUST REMEMBER, WE DON'T KNOW ALL THE FACTS, AND FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN DEAN IS MADLY IN LOVE WITH ALL OF HIS KIDS. WHATEVER THE CIRCUMSTANCES REGARDING LOLA, I'M SURE IT CAUSED HIM A GREAT DEAL OF PAIN.

Well, all I'll say, is that I can tell that Tori is petrified that he'll leave her too. You can see it in the episode with the chick at scuba and the episode with the chick at the motorcycle track.

I think she even said it one time that he left his wife for her, why wouldn't he leave her for someone else.
