Full Version: Future Contact with Grandma

I have to say right from the start, this Mother-Daughter confrontation really worried me. Unfortunately I anticipated that Candy would not show and this was a very real concern as fans of the show knew how this would affect Tori, but my concern has been that at this stage in Liam and Stella's growth that they are not missing out on anything yet. However, in another year this will not be the case and Grandma needs to put up or shut up. Tori and Dean as parents will have to at some point say no more because of the kids. Yes the ratings are a factor to some out there but all bets go out the window when your kids are being affected.

This is simply ludicrous

Kids can sense tension, even at a young age. It would be ideal for Candy to be in Liam & Stella's life but Tori is always very tense when Candy contacts her. Certainly that tension stems from hurtful circumstances and being apart from her Mom for so long. At some point Tori needs to learn how to control this stress (easier said than done) if possible. As the kids get older they will pick up on it more. The fued has gone on for a long time and seems to be getting worse.

Hopefully Tori was sincere about handling this situation privately. It's just not healthy to carry around all that sadness, anger and Tori admits to feeling guilty about not visiting her Father before he passed. It would be liberating for her to talk to her Mom about everything and listen to her Mom's feelings as well. Take a deep breath and feel stronger after all is said and done. She'll never know if she doesn't at least try.

Also, we don't see everything that goes on, we shouldn't be prive to that. Taking control of her life w/out the cameras is the right thing to do, it was her Mom's request. If things still don't work out after doing the best she can then there's a choice that only Tori can make.

I agree with a lot of what your saying. The only thing is, how can one miss something, if you never had it. The children haven't been around Candy. They don't know her, so IMO. I don't think the children will be affected by not seeing Candy.

I have spent my entire 60 years waiting to feel like my mother loved me. When she passed away I still didn't know. I finally decided that this was her loss not mine. She had the chance with me and my children but it was obviously something she either didn't want or didn't know how to deal with. My brother's kids got what she couldn't give mine.

I agree with Dean about giving up on Candy. The kids will be fine without her and they have other family "including the guncles" that will make up for the missing grandma. I can't imagine not wanting to be around my grandchildren. As it is, I don't get to see them very often but they, and my daughter and son, know that I love them and would give up everything for them. They will never wonder about who "grandma" is.

Tori--hang in there! If it is in her heart at all, Candy will come around. You can't force someone to love you or your kids. Enjoy your life with your lovely family and let Candy worry about what she's missing. If your children need a grandma I would gladly volunteer--my heart is open to all!

I am hoping Tori comes around for the sake of her children .............
