One night I found this show while channel surfing-I watched increduously as one of the characters had a hissy fit because her legs were not the same shade of tan. I marveled at people so afraid of aging that they voluntarily have needles stuck into their faces and pay good money for it.
I was transfixed by the lengths some people will go to fit society's standards of what constitutes beauty and I found myself shaking my head at such tragedies as crow's feet and sagging breasts.
I and many other people such as myself find this type of hedonism offensive when we have to fight every day to stay alive. I am on dialysis and have dealt with surgeries (none of them plastic), illness and hospital stays most of my life. I struggle to pay for my medications which keep me alive and know many, many others like me who deal with much worse issues than mine every day of their lives. People who would love to be able to grow old and wouldn't mind wrinkles at all, but many don't because of the illnesses that are killing them.
I realize that this show is pure fluff, but it tells our young people that what society calls "beauty" must be had at any cost and that to have wrinkles is one of life's greatest tragedies. The true beauty of a person is measured by how they face adversity, treat others and value what is truly important in life.
So, you see, I don't have a lot of sympathy for the people on "Addicted to Beauty".
But then again, when your biggest problem is how to find enough money to fund your Botox for the next month, maybe you do need some pity.

This show didn't start the trend, the fashion industry has been doing it for YEARS!! I will say I'm deeply sorry for your situation both medical and financial; however, if someone has the money and wants to have a cosmetic procedure it's well within their right. I don't think you would want someone judging you for not doing a procedure, as well you shouldn't them.

I agree with EXACTLY what hoops said. And honestly wrinkles DO look a sight to be hold.Luckily my family ages well but ANYWAY....it's a free for all world. People can do as they please in terms of how they desire to look if they have the money.I think the world would be a MUCH better place if everyone worried more about themselves rather than judge/focus on others.

This is the worst show ever!!!! Everyone on the show is a bad advertisement for plastic surgery. Horrible work. Diane looks like the woman in NY who made her face look like a cat!!!! Also as an HR Executive I counted at least 7 state and federal employment violations. Nightmare, absolute nightmare :-(

SO TRUE! Watching this show is like watching a motor vehicle accident. You don't want to look, but you can't help yourself in that you want to see the disaster.

I was trying to figure out why she looked familiar, now I know --you are right! Her name is Jocelyn Wildenstein. Freak!
