My husband and I cannot understand why you picked Marissa to be the host of this show. She is so cold when the contestants do not move on. She shows no sympathy at all and does not seem to understand how emotional this is for them. She just says you will be leaving, goodnight. No talk of how well they have done, congratulations on what they have accomplished or anything. She comes across as not caring about any of them. She needs to take a lesson from Ryan Seacrest on American Idol.

Not only that, but she seems to gain weight every week. For a show that is about getting healthy, I don't think it is good for your host to keep getting bigger. I know she had a baby last year, but a year is plenty of time to get back in shape especially when you have the foremost experts at your disposal.

Please do not let her host the next season. She is terrible!

Uh, yeah, basically a plus-size Barbie doll with all the sympathy and concern of a bit of plastic. I assumed they just picked her because she's big. She doesn't seem particularly suited for the role.

Maybe they can hire one of this year's contestants to host next year???

You know it's funny because I feel the same way about the girl who host the biggest loser. I felt the host they had at the beginning had more emotion and wanted to make the contestants feel better. But this host now seems like she has a hard time showing it...one time I remember there was a contestant saying his goodbye speech and after he was done all she said was "you're not the biggest loser". I was like what...no pep talk or nothing.

What is up with Marissa's wardrobe? I don't know if she has really been gaining weight or if the dresses chosen for her are just becoming more unflattering. They definitely accentuate her "problem areas." Sure, she was probably picked to be the host because she is recognizable to most of the audience and she is plus-sized, not to mention the fact that she is attractive. I would agree her personality could use some improvement. Show some enthusiasm! Next season, I would love to see one of the contestants from this season as suggested above (Shayla? She is so cute!), or maybe a public figure who has recently lost substantial weight in a healthy way. How about Marie Osmond?

Yes, I was thinking Shayla or Pinky might make a good hostess for the show.

I just wanted to add that Marissa didn't just have a baby... she adopted a baby so none of her weight can be blamed for that.

I agree... each week the contestants look better and better and Marissa looks worse and worse. Her dresses are skin tight, I don't even know how she gets in them.

I will be shocked if they bring her back next season. I'm ALL for a plus size host but this being a weightloss challenge, it isn't setting a good example when the host is packing on the pounds.

She didn't adopt a baby, she had a surrogate carry her child for her. Marisa had cancer and she was unable to conceive or carry her own baby.

I don't really like her hair and her dresses look so tight! How can she breathe?

Are you aware Marissa is a Tony-Award winning actress of the original Hairspray? A cancer survivor and constant reminder of the struggles of weight.

I find her manner appropriate not to dwell, and was more personal with the contestants requiring it, like Brandon.

She has relationships, apparently, behind the scenes.

I agree MSG - I think anybody svelt would be an insult and frankly I think she is appropriate when they leave the show and ALWAYS congratulates them on their weight loss. Mainly they seem to like her and that is the proof in that puddin

I totally agree... I don't think Marissa connects with the audience at all. I acknowledge she has an amazing resume, but reality show host is not her strong point. I've found that as each episode continues I become more and more annoyed with her.

I hope they replace her next season, but I wish Marissa all the best.

And your point is? So what? Apparently you can win a Tony and STILL not have the skills necessary to be a good host. It's like comedy, you can win an Academy Award and still not be able to do comedy.

Did she get the Tony Award due to a sympathy vote over her cancer? Ruben is sure milking the sympathy vote for his partner's cancer. WHO CARES? He's supposed to be scored on his skill dancing and not get "pity points" but he does. He's milking the sympathy so hard they should name a dairy for him.

I feel Marissa has done a good job. She has to add comments without showing partiality and stay on time for the show schedule. Yes, her dresses are too tight and that is the fault of whoever is dressing her. Hosting is not the easiest thing to do and I believe she has done her job. I also must comment on Lisa Ann. I loved her in "Shall We Dance" and have to commend her on her weight loss, knowledge of dance, and an overall great judge. She wasn't afraid to critisize or show emotion. I loved her whole judging ethic. Great job both of you.

I understand she's a Tony-award winning actress, but I honestly don't think she's good at hosting. First of all, every week she changes the pronunciation of someone's name each time she says it, and she still butchers "Teeson".

Her wardrobe isn't her fault, but she's been interviewed about her weight, etc., and how she's working with trainers, etc., but I don't honestly see it. It would have been nice to see her go through the journey as well.

I agree with the comments about Lisa Ann. Mayte is lovely, but Lisa Ann seems to know much more about the technical side of dancing and always calls them out for it. I do have to say, I love all three hosts because they genuinely seem to like the dancers and when they make comments, it all does seem sincere.

I'd say it to her face in a heartbeat! I am known for being BRUTALLY honest and, believe me, I never say anything behind someone's back if I can say it to their face.Give me her email address and I'll write to her to share my comments.

I liked Marissa on Moesha a decade ago, but other than that, she leaves me cold. Her facial expression while reading the TelePromter kills me!

Take her off the show. I could clearly see who were her favorites. She gave Alicia so much support. When she danced on Dancing With The Stars. She lost. Her dance style was terrible. So when your host can't dance how can you pick good judges. Diversify your judges. I done with this show!!

Well now hold up a minute, IF hey take her off as host and replace the judges and change the scoring --I'll watch the next season. THAT is if there is one!!

Agreed, Marissa sucks. She's fake, unempathic, and looks incredibly frightening. Especially when she smiles. My husband walked through the room while I was watching the show and asked who the high school drama student was. That kind of sums it up.

On a different topic, how the hell did Ruben win over Shayla? Ruben danced with his mouth hanging open, never did any flips etc. Shayla always the professional, gorgeous, riveting. And did Teeson want to do Pinky, or what?

Did anyone notice that she would often glare at pinky (especially during the first half of the show)?
I understand why they put her on the show, She's a big name and she's plus size, so it's a win, win for advertising. But sister doesn't have charisma.
PS. Her clothes, hair, and overall physical look weren't her fault, but the stylists need to go back to fashion school!

Bring Mo'Nique as the next host! This one was terrible...no personality.
