I feel like someone slapped me with a fish! The final episode left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. After seeing the unfair judging and Shayla being eliminated I felt as though I wasted my time watching this show.
I'll admit that I always figured that Ruben would win, even though Shayla is a much better dancer. But for Shayla not to make it to the top 2, after being the strongest competitor makes me sick. I liked Pinky, but she is no where near as good as Shayla. Shayla took risks, lost a lot of weight, and improved every episode, she deserved a lot more! She deserved to win, or at the very least have the Judges admit that she was their strongest female performer.
Looking back I regret watching this show; the finale broke my heart that much.
To think that I as a pro-wrestler missed the final minute of WWE's Monday Night Raw to watch this sham of a show makes me mad

SHAYLA ALL THE WAY....THE BAHAMAS LOVED YOU! AWESOME DRESS IN THE FINALE!
I was so thrilled by the show but sorely disappointed by the results, watching all the way from the Bahamas. Firstly, Pinky should not have made it into the finals and secondly, how could someone in the group of 9 eliminated win $5000 and Shayla and Pinky get nothing? Thirdly, the popular vote was always Shayla, so why doesn't the popular vote count?
It is a biological fact that men lose weight far more quickly than women. Come on...10 lbs a week for Reubin? Does everyone know how difficult it is for a woman to lose 2 lbs? Our muscles develop much slower than men and thus metabolism is not boosted to the same levels as theirs when we exercise. Because of this, I think other factors should have been considered because an extremely overweight person (Reubin) may lose a lot of weight but not build as much muscle as a less heavy person and therefore the scale would reflect a higher weight loss for him. Therefore, muscle gained should have beem taken into count as well because that makes the weight loss seem like less as you get closer to your goal. Is is clear that Shayla began to build solid lean muscle evidence by the tightening and toning of her body while everyone else still had fat flying around.
I didn't have a problem with Shayla and Pinky being under 200lbs because when you are a 5'2" woman, weigning 185lbs, that is just as bad a a 6' man weighing 300lbs, even worse!
Also, the judges picked the slowest dance genre for Shayla's finale, which requires a longer time to draw in and audience as opposed to an upbeat routine. Then, they scored her low for an amazing routine! I think Shayla came closest to the goal of the show than anyone on the show and the amazing body she revealed at the end in that gown tells it all.
On another note, the man's role in the dance routine was always less demanding. They don't have to be tossed into the air, fall into splits, lift their legs over their heads, bend over backwards and bend their bodies in ways that the female competitors had to in order to make their routines interesting. The female professional dancers did the work for the men while they basically just had to ensure they were the leader on the floor and held the right posture. Reuben did nothing that made his routines memorable to me and was scored far too high throughout the entire show.
I may watch again next season but not as enthused as I was before...the host definitely needs work as well.

I was REALLY disappointed to see that manipulative Ruben win and felt the scoring was unfair to the women, who actually had to dance and, not only that, but do it in heels while Ruben just coasted but, be that as it may, the important thing is that FINALLY a tv show has come forward and pointed out that fat people can be attractive, graceful, sexy and more.
For that reason, no, we didn't waste our time. Beauty comes in all sizes and shapes

I couldn't agree more. I have loved Dance Your a** off, especially because it's been respectful of heavy people, very encouraging and showcased how heavy people are sexy. But, I was so disappointed in the finale. We all here thought both of the women's performances were far superior to Rubens. Worse, it has made us believe it was rigged and that has broken my heart. I will never watch it again.--Shaman

I won't say disappointed, but underwhelmed.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I agree totally. What a disappointing ending to such a worthwhile show. Sorry, Ruben, I thought you were an okay dancer, but not up to the quality of Shayla and Pinky. For Pinky to lose by that little bit was a slap in the face for all of us. Very disappointing. Will not watch next season unless some major changes are made!

I don't feel like I wasted my time because I DID enjoy the show every week, even though I did curse the TV at the unfair scores that Ruben received; but I felt "raped" by the finale and heartbroken that the real winner was not chosen.

Even though none will be as cute as Brandon, I do hope they have cuter guys next season. Shayla, Pinky even Trice were beautiful. Except for Shayla, they had beautiful spirits as well as aesthetics.
