Oxygen Boards > TV Shows > The Bad Girls Club

Ok so I like oxygen and most of their shows but seriously the whole "bad girls club "and shows that depisct these total bitcy sluts on tv are rediculous. Its making little girls think thats how you act. Becasue if you do you get a tv show! Way to teach our future women of america to have no standards and behave like utter asses! Its not just Oxygen either like VH1 and the Charm school crap,or the rock of love.... No wonder 12 yr olds dress like hoes and 80% have given oral sex! Can we get some role models on tv? I realize its up to parents to teach them to behave but when everything a parent teaches is undermined and glorified its a loss cause.
PlacidBitch
I see your point and agree that it is valid but I must give my own opinion on this matter.
1. These shows are meant for adults, not childern. One might say good parents will not let their children watch said shows. One might say a parent whom let's their children watch said shows is damning their child to a live of promsicuity and trash.
2. I personally would let my children watch them... if they were of a certain age and maturity. Like say physically/mentally 15 or 16. If my children were younger and really wanted to watch said shows, they would under my supervision so they could understand that what these women are doing is making total fools and jokes of themselves.
3. Said shows are not the only trash on tv. Just look at Hanna Montanna/Miley Cyrus the slut. That girl is complete trash and her actions on "Disney" channel are no better than the bad girls club, just minus the alcohol. And what's worse is her father not only condones it, he participates and markets her like a piece of meat! DISGUSTING! And all the other "children shows" on the children's networks are just the same. They are all dressing/try to be like adults. My mother would have killed me if I dressed like them at their age.
4. I tend to reflect back on when I was a young teenager.... it didn't matter to me what my elders told me, nor what I saw on tv. I acted how I wanted to act and felt what my body wanted to feel... no one could tell me otherwise.
IMO, it not just the shows... it's society as a whole. You will not solve the problem by taking these shows off the air. We as society need a complete change to better ourselves for the future of our children... and IMO... THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN FOR A VERY LONG TIME.

Okay, I'm done... I promis... Continue happy.gif

I agree that these women are HORRIBLE role models for girls. I think that teen girls are heavily influenced by reality stars such as the bad Girls Club, even if they don't realize it as a conscious level.

I'm a 22-year-old so I am grown and matured to know that these young women are horrible role models, and total embarassments. However, if I were watching this show at age 14 I bet I would think they were "cool" and try to emulate them. Parents really need to be watching what their kids watch. I am obsessed with the bad girls club because of the scandelous, train-wreck aspects. The women on the shows are absolute disasters and social degenerates....LOL. Maybe when I am a mother I will have my young daughters watch the show for a warning of what not to be like.

I think it's sad how the Bad Girls members allow themselves to be exploited by oxygen for their 15 minutes of fame. This has been the highest rated show for Oxygen ever and the network has made millions, wheras from what I understand, the Bad Girls are not even payed a dime. Maybe before their 15 minutes run up, they can make some decent money appearing at skanky night clubs...but that's it. Also, their career aspirations are severely compromised because employers and disgusted when they find out they were on a show like this....and look up their drunken antics.

It's really sad how low the girls on the show are.....Just think about the last cast. They were probably loving all the fame and attention on the blogs, but now they have been deleted. Their fifteen minutes are up and a new cast is here to replace them!!!

I think is a major red flag that you are probably of extremely low character and morality when you constantly have to proclaim that you are "classy." Haha that was hilarious how Natalie explained that their is a "classy" way to fight a girl. I suppose there is also a "classy" way to pose for playboy and a "classy" way to get hammered on national TV.

Well, anyways. I can't wait til the show! I LOVE to hate these girls.

I know, it's so funny how we love to hate these girls, haha!! But I guess it would be boring if they didn't act up and I think Oxy picks the most extreme characters for the show. I'm looking forward to seeing the new group of bad girls.

I was talking to a friend the other day and we agreed it would be much more fun to play a bad or naughty role versus the nice guy if given the opportunity. Like on the "Housewives" shows, we tune in to see what the nasty HW will do next.

One thing people dont realize is that these shows have masterful editing.
I didnt realize that until after watching a lot of reality TV.
They really can make it seem like a person is really really good or bad depending
on how the scenes are edited.

Sometime I have noticed is that they splice together scenes and actions that did not happen in sequence. They can do all of that.

Knowing helps me take the things I see with a grain of salt on these shows.
Especially since the girls on the BGC cant even watch TV. The only thing they can do is go out and drink and party. That makes for conflict and drama all by itself.
