I watch a lot of trutv and one of my favorite shows (besides Snapped) is Forensic Files, which I think is a pretty objective and compassionate show. I've now run into a few episodes I've seen done on both shows and I'm alarmed at the difference in the way Snapped treats some of these cases. The one involving a transvestite (it's on the DVD) was unbelievably exploitative..in the actual case, she was not nearly as implicated as the husband but Snapped spent an enormous amount of time fixated on her because she's a tranny...which they reveal part way into the show, but you can totally tell the first time they show a picture of her and she has an Adam's apple.
Anyone else see the same murder case done on another show and see major disparities in how it was presented?

I've been a big fan of SNAPPED for a while but recently started watching TRU TV. I was tickled to see that they have profiled some of the same women.
Yesenia Patino episode is from Season 3 of SNAPPED.

Yeah, I've noticed that as well. And more (or some unknown) details may be provided on another show compared to a show in which a certain case had been previously profiled on.

I have seen 2 cases on both shows(Forensic Files and Snapped).. 1. Lynn Turner-killed her husband and lover by poisoning them with anti-freeze to collect insurance money, 2. Ann Miller-killed her husband by poisoning him with arsenic because she was having an affair with a co-worker. Both cases were treated very similiar on both shows.

Sara Johnson, the teenager that was convicted & sentenced to life for killing both her parents was profiled tonight on trutv. (This was shown last season on snapped.) Does anyone know if this was a repeated episode for trutv?

Amy Bosley, the gal from KY has also been profiled on trutv (forensic files?).
She was the office manager for her husband's, Bob, roofing business. The IRS wanted to talk with the coule re: years of unpaid taxes that they owed. They are guessing that was the motive behind Bob's murder.
They both had affairs.

I am a big fan of 48 Hours Mystery and Dateline and a lot of the Snapped episodes have also been on those two shows.
I do like however that they show different perspectives on the cases. The Michelle Michael case gave some different info. than the 48 Hrs. episode and it was nice to get some questions I had on that one answered.
She was the nurse from Morgantown, W.Va. who shot her husband up with the paralyzing drug and then started the bedroom on fire with him in bed, still alive but paralyzed.
I live close to Morgantown so that was of special interest for me.
