I am sorry for what I said about plus size. I really appreciate that you tried to make it work. In the end you know what is best for you and your agency and in the end that is all that matters.

I'm glad you brought that up. That was the last I watched the show on how
she treated the plus size models. not for all but its hard trying to get weight
off and some struggle with that while others just say screw it! I'm happy the
way I am. not everyone is skinny like these models. i'm average size and if
I was on there there to Janice I would be fat. the real world perfect size. young
girls starve themselves just to look good like what they see on tv. alot of shows
set bad examples to kids. I think it was cruel and wrong of Janice to treat those
woman that way and make them look like fools on tv. I liked Janice but after watching
that episode I wont watch her anymore. I understand its not healthy being over
weight but these skinny girls they show is a fairy tale world were not all are that skinny. some but not all... jmo

I use to give Janice the benefit of the doubt, but was truly disappointed when I saw the plus size episode. I haven't watched it again, not even the re-runs.
Kudos to Tyra for picking Whitney last cycle on ANTM, first plus size model to win. She's doing well too.
I think the designers need to open their eyes b cuz they make the clothes size 2 so the models have to be small. If they start making more realistic sizes, the demand for normal models will increase. These girls will do anything to fit into size 0 or 2, sad.

I am disgusted with what I have witnessed in this show. It is despicable how she treats people. It is atrocious how she treats other human beings. She is just plain rude and what she is promoting is really UNETHICAL. Now I'm not one of those lefties people but WHO THE F@#K DOES SHE THINK SHE IS???
And its not just the plus model thing. The fact that she requires models to get naked in order to be a model. What a lame excuse! She was probably brought up in an environment full of slutty backstabbing bitches being a model herself and all that she naturally feels she has to act that way to have a successful business. I feel sorry for her.

well....She'll tell you. She's Janice F**king Dickinson! Holla! The fashion industry is a crazy whacked out, OVER flamboyant expression of 1 designers collective idea of beauty and a dick measuring contest between them to out do the other. It is artistry at its finest. The clothes of high end designer and those types of fashions that grace the covers of Ms. Dickinson's heavily quoted "holy trinity of fashion mags," is the TYPE of modeling and the wing of the industry that made her who she is. She doesnt hate fat people. Janice...if you read her book, doesnt have that level of antagonistic emotional response in her. She is not representing the commercial side of the modeling and fashion industry...she is all about HIGH FASHION and couture. It is not HER fault that the industry as a whole cuts runway clothing to the size that looks best going down the runway. Every woman in America wants that certain shoe or that designer bag or maybe in some cases, like Rachel Zoe...every piece of vintage clothing...because...to them...it is art. Janice gets it. She stands for something...outside of the modeling thing and uses everything in her arsonal to make a difference in the world. She is "demanding" or judgemental towards potential clients to her agency because...well, its her agency, for one, but she expects the people who are joining up with her to try as hard and be as fully dedicated and have that hunger and desire to be the best model they can be....just as she did. If you choose not to watch her show, great, but dang....do you have to rally troops to slander her name on the internet? If you want to be outraged, she is not your marytr. Get mad at the fashion industry, not Janice. She took full advantage of modeling as a financial move for her, as well as artistic expression. It isnt like the designers dont make Ready To Wear clothing in sizes to fit the real women of the world. Runway fashion is no different than a display sample of shoes in a boutique window...or on the shelf at JCPenneys. Its the smaller one, which is more pleasing to the eye. Also....if you start some rally against one of the biggest gay icons of the century....you will have hella lot of angry lesbians and gay men sending you hate letters. The gays LOVE Janice....and so do I.

You must be an idiot! I am not plus sized but was astonished that this old witch would react this way. She wants her "models" to be in Vogue but she would never have a chance to appear in Vogue now. She is doing gum commericals. She is a has been who was never a "Super Model" or she would have had money to pay her rent and run an agency. Tyra does! She looks like Phyllis Diller with black hair, in short sh#### who can only get jobs doing reality tv because she is such a train wreck. None of her "models" make it and people only watch her show to see what kind of crack antics she will perform. She is a wannabe Gia, who looked like crap posing next to Gia. She is also a Ho who tried to blame Sylvester Stallone for her illegitemate daughter while she was being a ho, but a blood test proved otherwise for the crack ho.
This is who you are apologizing to?
Try idolizing a good person like Tyra vs. this crack ho grandma.

Just in case you dd not know - gay people are in the minority or you would have the right to marry! The isssue was this old hag treating the plus size models the way that she did. She is old and that is why she can only get second rate reality shows. There is room for plus sized models and smaller models in the industry as the world is now showing. Please note the support that Heidi Klum is receiving vs the idiot designer that said she was too fat to walk the runway and the designers that refuse to allow models who are not a certain healthy size to walk the runway. Janice was small back in her day because she was doing cocaine and she looks like a walking wrinkled skeleton today because of it. I will take beautiful, normal and more successful Tyra Banks or Heidi Klum anyday over this drug addicted, disrespected, plastic wannabe anyday. At least Heidi and some of Tyra's people are successful. What happened to any of crackhead Janice's people. She is only on TV because people love a to see a trainwreck. Good TV. Go do a gum commercial crackhead. That's not Vogue, ho. Anna Wintour is dying just hearing this crack ho say Vogue.
Wake up sweetie.

I dont idolize any person. Women in America are fat. I dont know what the hell you are talking about in making your comments about gay people, but you sure seem to have alot to say about your obvious hatred for minorities. Gay marriage has absolutly nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Janice is a gay icon. She is who she is and it is clear by your slander of her, as well as her character, that you dont like her. It is obvious that you are either too young or have no clue about the fashion industry, because Janice, in her day, was big time.
As far as Tyra, there is no comparing the two of them. Tyra does a reality show as well. You also need to do your research concerning the models who have appeared on JDMA. She has also openly admitted to using drugs in the past, as did alot of models, musicians, actors...it was the 70's and 80's and not too much has changed as far as that goes. It IS Janice's honesty that you dispise so much. Read her book.

Also, in relation to the gay thing...the population of gay people in America has nothing to do with them not being able to marry....at all. That is the most uneducated, ignorant and intolerant thing that I think I have ever heard. Probably moreso than Janice making a comment about plus sized models.

At first I really liked Janice D. But after I heard the fowl things her and her son were saying she just confirmed that the class that she trys to portray is one of new money, married in, never had before and thinks that it will never run out. She really is classless and should apologize to each and everyone of those woman. Truthfully she should be petitioned off the network. - not that it will happen, but it should her mouth has caused to many problems because she believes she is irreplaceable. What would she do if Beyonce walked in, turn her away cause she is not a size 2. People make me laugh.

point well taken and received. In relation to honesty over opinion....the point that I was making is referencing the fact that some people, Janice included, dont exactly posess the ability to self-edit. She says exactly what is on her mind and it isnt just about the topic being discussed. Think back to the episode in which she took a stand against fur. She is passionate......and that translates into many different avenues, with little regard for self editting. This can be taken many different ways, but it boils down to honesty.
I dont subscribe to the methods of the previous posters in this thread, in that name calling and blind accusations gets ANY point across in a manner that is taken well by others. In fact, I find it ironic. lol
I think that we can all agree that, regardless of Janices statements obviously being her opinion....it was an honest one and in truth....she is not wrong....it was just perceived as such by the manner in which she delivered it. Thats Janice! Its love her or hate her and that as well, is a matter of perspective. Again, I will say....read her actual book, rather than just judging from the cover, or in this case, the words.
Even Tyra herself, in speaking to Eva and countless others, has said...that being mean or course towards others is from a place of fear, intimidation and hurt and to read this womans story and really seek to understand her....it makes sense....
Janice Dickinson is like the Catholic Church to a Baptist.....totally misunderstood.
I defend not her words and I agree that she perhaps does owe an apology, but one for hurting the feelings by the delivery, not by what she meant. It is not a lack of class, but a lack of tact.

Im not going to go into the whole gay thing (I actually dont know how this post got into it) but I really thought she was an "Haggy" on the commercials even before I watched the show- but she was AWFUL to the plus size girls ( I guess most people forget that those girls are probably taller than the average girls)- but I think its unfair to say "American girls are fat", thats not a cool way to go and its NOT what were talking about- were talking about Janice being blatantly rude to someone. And I laugh everytime she says "I was the first "supermodel"" because I honestly had never heard of her before ANTM. Thats all.

I find this whole discussion problematic.
While it may be true that Janice is a product of her experience, and that she may have internalized an irrational aversion to plus-size models, how on earth is this an excuse for a powerful woman with her own television show -- including the opportunity to edit the footage or, in the alternative, comment on it if she views the footage and later changes her opinion -- to express such virulent and irrational hatred for the plus-size models? How does this serve as a legitimate ground for such apologetics as stating that "she is not wrong", implying that it is "just her opinion" (which, for the record, is actually an insult to her, since it implies that she is simply a product of the fashion industry, lacking an independent agency).
The fact is, Janice was wrong. If she did not want plus-size models, then she should have acted like an adult and cancelled the entire photo shoot, instead of transparently using the issue to create conflict in the house and manufacture a controversy. Letting the photo shoot continue and proceeding to act like a "victim" with no control over the circumstances is grotesquely disingenuous. It is also opportunistic -- an obvious decision to exploit the controversy in order to pad the ratings. Some of the models, in particular Chandler, were also shameful. It boils down to this: if you truly believe in your convictions, then take responsibility for them act like an adult. Don't pretend to be a passive victim of experience with no power to demonstrate some integrity.
For the record, I am a gay man. I have no idea what the discussion about gay marriage and minorities had to do with this issue. Let's stick the issues at hand.

I think someone needs to give Janice a NEWSFLASH-
She has no room to judge ANYONE else.
Back then no one knew what model personality was [OBVIOUSLY]
If she was the first supermodel and all.
She's a rude and TERRIBLE person, and she's really not pretty [neither on the inside or outside.]
I don't even see how she has a tv show, because of her fckng discrimination
against those women.
