My girlfriend just had a miscarriage and she went to the doctors and they told her not to have sex for 3 weeks and I was wondering why not. If we use a condom. would it hurt if we did have sex,

Her cervix is open and inserting anything can cause a very bad infection. It takes time for it to close again before she can put anything in there. Not only can she not have sex but she can't use tampons or take baths or swim either until her cervix closes.

That is pretty selfish of you. If she just had a tragic loss why do you think she'd want to have sex right away? Why would using a condom make a difference??

I hope she can get through this and that she can heal, emotionally and physically. Give her time and do not push her to have sex again until she's ready.

Well said Brooklyn Mama. lol...i didn't get the whole part either where he asked if it would make it not hurt by wearing a condom. How does that come into play? maybe i'm behind in the times because i havent used a condom in a long time, maybe the advances in them are far beyond me.

I don't think the poster was being selfish, just asking a question. I had a miscarriage a few years ago, and while "when can I have sex again?" wasn't my first question I can understand why someone would be curious. Maybe he thought "no sex" becuause it would hurt hence the condom question. You definitely don't want to get pregnant right away, and like bubblebaby said infection.
